We’ve all made mistakes throughout our lives that haven’t exactly put us in the best light–like bullying someone in school or telling what seemed like a little white lie. Chances are, however, you probably felt a little guilt and grew because of the situation.

I’m an average guy trying to become better in both my student life and home life. I’ll never be perfect, but it doesn’t mean I won’t try.

We are all familiar with the saying, turning a new leaf but most people don’t really know what it means, what it stands for . Most people i’ve come in contact with often believe they will, somehow overnight become a better version of themselves.i’m not saying its not possible but its a process so here are some steps you can take to better your bring, mind you the road is though but the end result is “near-perfection”.

  1. COMPLIMENT YOURSELF: Every morning before you go on with your daily routine, take a couple of minutes to give yourself a compliment. Whether you compliment your outfit, haircut, or how you recently completed a task using your unique skill sets, giving yourself a little emotional boost will make you happy. And, when you’re happy with yourself, that emotion can be contacted by those around you.
  2. DON’T MAKE EXCUSES: Blaming your spouse, boss, or clients is fruitless and won’t get you very far. Instead of pointing fingers and making excuses about why you aren’t happy or successful in your personal or professional life, own your mistakes and learn from them. When you do this, you will become a better person.
  3. LET GO AND FORGIVE: Letting go of anger is easier said than done, but you cant let it fester. When this happens you may make unwise decisions, not only that but your health also is affected studies show that anger can cause digestion,problems, sleeping problems and even heart disease. To mange your anger you can either writte down your feelings, pray, or practice the mantra “i forgive you, i release you”.
  4. BE HONEST AND DIRECT: How would you feel if a loved one or business partner lied to you? Chances are you would see that as a violation of your trust. If you want to be a better person in either your personal or professional life, you should always tell the truth and state as clearly as possible what you are trying to convey. Learn to articulate your thoughts, feelings, and ideas in an open and honest manner.Also be polite when you want your feelings to be heard.
  5. LISTEN AND BE OPEN MINDED: When you give another person a voice by listening to them you open your mind to be impacted on. It makes you respectful even when you don’t agree on the persons opinion. A lot of the greatest deals happened because one person chose to listen.And new experience are gotten because keeping an open mind allows change as scary as it is come in and slowly you change for the better.
  6. EDUCATE YOURSELF: If you don’t understand a concept or idea, take the time to educate yourself on the current events. Ask a person intimately connected with the event for his or her thoughts. Remember, we’re all interconnected, and being aware of different cultures, different people, and what their lives are like can make you a more well-rounded individual. This will also help you understand points of view different from your own.
  7. BE YOURSELF: Be able to align yourself with your values and beliefs, establish your identity, build courage, create boundaries, and find focus and direction. Laugh! Be humorous! Do something that makes your heart happy and makes you feel like dancing.

I wouldn’t say i didn’t see this coming but it still surprises. It starts gradually you see, coaxing you slowly until finally it snaps shut, and its too late. OFFICE ARRANGEMENTS DILEMMA

World Green Building Council recently concluded that there is overwhelming evidence linking the office space design and productivity of employees. But it’s not a new thing; it’s been there from quite a long time and we all know that productivity level of employees go down when they aren’t comfortable. May it be the atmosphere, temperature or the noise level; the employees need to be relaxed and comfortable to work at their best productive levels.

So, it’s really important to set the office to create the best possible working environment to make the employees more comfortable. There is no straight answer when asked, which is best among closed cubicles and open plan offices. As there are pros and cons associated with both the designs, you just have to think which design suits your business type the best and which design would be comfortable for your employees.

 

CUBICULE VS OPEN PLAN:

Cubicle Offices: Today, closed cubicle has almost become a synonym for ‘office space’ being employed across the major cities in India. It was designed to get the employees out of the old time open plan offices.

In 1960s, a designer called Robert Propst proposed an idea of providing independence and autonomy to the employees working in office and offered a flexible three walled design that can be reshaped to satisfy any need.

It didn’t take too long for businesses to realize that they can cram more people into a smaller space if they use cubicle design at offices. As the result, we can see majority of the office spaces designed with cubicles.cubed-584

Open Plan Design: It has been the latest trend to have an open environment at office. The logic behind this is that, the employees will be more productive and happier when they work together instead of getting isolated within the walls.

Open plan offices allow employees to interact with each other which make them feel less isolated. The design also allows spontaneous interjections which helps in promoting the creativity.

Also, open plan is potentially helpful for less experienced members or interns as they can interact with the experienced employees easily.

There are lots of employees who think that privacy has been one of the major causes of work dissatisfaction, and they also complain about increased noise levels and distraction. Colour and Lighting:

Different colours at office can have different impact on the employees. Green makes the employees think broader and help them come up with creative ideas; Red boosts their energy; Pink gives them a calm effect and White has a modern appeal associated with it. So, while choosing the colours, make sure you
consider the psychological effects of the colours.

Next comes the lighting; just check how much natural light the office is receiving and see is there any way to increase it. If you have to get settled in a windowless space, obviously you’ll have to go with artificial lighting. In such case, consider using full-spectrum bulbs which simulate daylight keeping the light soft and warm.

Ultimately it’s you who know the business well, so just look at the size of your company and the roles of employees, and choose a layout that suits the best for your business and employees. If your employees spend a bit more time on their phones, open plan might not work out for you. But if the team looks creative sharing their ideas with each other, open plan can allow your employees interact with ease. The same applies for colour and lighting as well; all that you do is not just for your employees, but also for your own.

STOP STRESSING AND LIVE A LITTLE

We have to realize that our lives could be gone in a moment. There are no guarantees that we will be here at this time next year. Learn to live each day to the fullest. Don’t complain. Don’t focus on what’s wrong. Be grateful for the opportunity to experience each day. so here’s my advice to you.

for summer;

for someone to fall in love with you;

for life.

Happiness is when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.

Today is a really special day for me and a certain someone who thought me how to live. and am grateful for her impact in my life.

#new beginnings 

Hi guys!, it’s the last day of the first month of 2016; we are already one month gone and memories of 2015 still linger around. An before we know it 2017 will be knocking at our door.

The second month February always brings in alot of buzz & drama, and as expected this February has got us anticipating, whatever you taste is, ranging from music, movies, fashion & style; this coming month has the potential to keep us thrilled 😊

  Okay so here goes my first post, am a little nervous but all great things start with one step. So here goes my first step. Basically im just gonna let you all see the world from my own perspective and occasionally drop some of my opinions feel free to comment about yours too. Hope you enjoy the ride. 

Nothing truly is what they seem, it depends on how you view things, i read in a social network once that the way you see a hold up on the streets of lagos,calabar, port harcourt, abuja, isn’t the same way the hawkers see it.
